Have a heart | Richmond Free Press
In the November 3-5 edition of the Richmond Free Press, there was an article about protecting the homeless. Thanks to Rhonda Sneed and her organization for working 10-14 hour days delivering food, blankets and clothing to homeless people.
She said the demand for food has doubled due to the number of people they find and they are stretched. Ms Sneed also said City Hall is not rushing to fill shelter gaps. Many of us, whether we realize it or not, are one or two paychecks away from falling into homelessness.
The weather is getting very cold there and the municipal authorities have to deal with this matter quickly. They must use the same energy that was deployed to try to put the casino project back on the referendum, even if the majority voted against it.
Personally, I don’t see that happening. Homeless people are human beings too and need our help. Ms. Sneed and other organizations like hers cannot do everything, even if they do their best, and we thank them for that. Homelessness has been identified, so let’s do something about it before it’s too late. Please have a heart.
